FNB Kids Sent To Robben Island

JOHANNESBURG – The ANC this morning took swift action against a group of children who appeared in a series of controversial FNB television commercials by imprisoning them on Robben Island. ANCYL spokesperson Khusela Sangoni-Khawe branded the campaign “a treacherous attack on our country,” echoing a statement yesterday by ANC spokeperson Keith Khoza who said that FNB had launched an “attack on the president, his ministers and the government as a whole.”

The party initially intended to direct its action against FNB and the advertising agency responsible for the campaign, but apprehended the children instead when it discovered that the scripts were based on their own opinions. The arrests follow the recent incarceration on the island of “Spear” artist Brett Murray and cartoonist Jonathan Shapiro.

How dare they, is this a sign of things to come, that like in the old days of apartheid, if someone disagrees with the government or points out their faults, you will be thrown into prison. I know this is not a real prison anymore, but the message they are sending is the same none the less.
